Soil conditioners work by binding together small soil particles to form large, water-stable aggregates. They are widely used to prevent soil erosion, reduce evaporation and excessive transpiration, conserve irrigation water, and promote healthy plant growth.

Altering Soil Physical Properties

Soil aggregate structure is altered, increasing capillary and non-capillary porosity, reducing soil bulk density, increasing soil aeration, and boosting saturated hydraulic conductivity. This helps conserve water, reduces evaporation, and effectively improves precipitation utilization efficiency. Such agents include wheat bran, sawdust, and chicken manure compound amendments, coal fly ash, zeolite, and bentonite.

Improves soil chemical properties
